This was how the sketch looked after I had inked it, next stage was to apply several coats off clear gesso in order to prime it for the oils.

We’ve been a little bit quiet while awaiting funds from Kickstarter, and simply got on with the job laying out the book!
Progress is good - we’re now well into laying out the extra pages you unlocked, and everything is going swimmingly. It’s a pleasure to work with such high quality content!
From this point on you can expect at least one update a month from me or Ralph as we finalise the book.
We’re prepping the pledge manager right now.
For those who aren’t regular Kickstarter users, a pledge manager is a bit like a web shop, where we get your address for delivery, and let you choose how to spend any additional funds you added for Add-Ons. You’ll also be able to upgrade for further Add Ons in the pledge manager if you’re so inclined.
We’ll be taking late pledges via the pledge manager too, so anyone who missed the campaign will be able to join in.
It makes the whole process really easy, and gives us loads of data crunching tools to speed things along.
I spoke to Ralph yesterday and progress on the back cover painting is good - we’ll share that with you as soon as it’s done.
We’re keen to get the original art rewards out to those who pledged for them, so I’ll be in touch with you today: Since Original Art pledgers are a small group, it’s easy enough to handle getting your delivery address via KS messaging so it can begin today.
Your original art will be delivered separately to your book - it seems sensible to focus solely on shipping those precious originals as a task in itself.
We have some digital wallpaper packs to share with you in the coming weeks - they’re looking awesome, and will be heading your way soon.
In a different type of additional content, we’re still sending emails and making phone calls trying to get one of the major publishers of Ralph’s work to respond, to see if we can include their pieces in the book. Hopefully they’ll talk to us since there’s some wonderful work which would be lovely to include.
